Weekly Update Nov 18 2022

Last week, I visited polling locations around the district to meet voters on Election Day. Thank you to everyone who cast a ballot and made your voice heard! This election was a huge win for our Democracy.

This week, I joined federal, state, and local officials at the grand opening of the Metro Silver Line Extension. The new rail connections provide convenient and affordable transportation from Reston, Herndon, and Eastern Loudoun County to Washington Dulles International Airport. This is a momentous infrastructure milestone in Northern Virginia!

Route 7 Upcoming Lane Closures for Nov. 20-23, 2022

Crews will be performing excavation and fill operations, clearing, storm pipe work, paving and other construction-related activities on Nov. 20-23 along eastbound and westbound Route 7 and on other neighborhood streets.

As a reminder, drivers will experience lane shifts on Route 7, traffic pattern changes on neighborhood streets, and detours along the corridor. Please see the related traffic alerts. Temporary road closures are listed here.

During construction, drivers are asked to use caution and be alert to signs, flaggers and potential police direction in work zones. Slow-moving vehicles and equipment may be entering and exiting the road. Please see VDOT's video on navigating lane closure merges.
