Free Rapid COVID-19 Antigen At-home Test Kits Available at Fairfax County Libraries

Fairfax County Public Library branches have become distribution sites for free COVID-19 rapid antigen at-home test kits as part of a pilot program. BinaxNOW COVID-19 Antigen Card Home Test kits are available at each of Fairfax County Public Library’s 13 open community branches and 8 regional branches. Please call your local branch to ensure they have a supply. If you need a test, here is more information. The test should be taken at home, not in a library branch. If someone is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, please request kits via the library’s contactless curbside pickup service.

Please Note: Quantities are limited. Neither proof of residency nor a library card is required, and the kits are free of charge. These tests have an expiration date of the end of December and are therefore meant to be used immediately, not saved for a “just in case” scenario. More information on this program is available here or by calling 1-877-829-4682

The VDH Antigen Testing Recommendations webpage provides guidance on next steps following antigen test results.
